Why I built LootSwarm

Mike, founder of LootSwarm

Hi, I'm Mike — for the last 15 years I've been addicted to finding deals online: flights, retail, credit-card deals, you name it. At this point, my wife and kids know a random package on the porch means Dad found another one.

Deal communities have been stagnant for years — and that's exactly what LootSwarm sets out to change. I built it to bring deal enthusiasts together in one place. I'm thrilled you've joined the swarm — can't wait to see your finds.

My commitment: I'll limit ads as much as possible. If it ever feels like too much, email me directly at mike@lootswarm.com.

Frequently asked

What is LootSwarm?
LootSwarm is a community deals platform. A swarm of deal hunters posts the best discounts and price drops they find across the internet, the community upvotes the best ones, and real shoppers confirm whether each deal actually worked.
How are deals found and ranked?
Members post the deals they find, and the community upvotes them. Deals are ranked by upvotes and “did it work?” confirmations — never by payment. Sponsored placements exist but are always clearly labeled and never mixed into the community ranking.
How do I know a deal still works?
Every deal carries structured confirmations from real buyers: worked, out of stock, or dead. The deal page shows how many people confirmed it's live, and deals flagged dead or out of stock by enough people are automatically marked. Prices change fast, so always check the current price at the retailer before buying.
Does LootSwarm accept payment for better rankings?
No. Ranking is never for sale — it's driven purely by the community. Advertisers can book clearly-labeled sponsored spots, but those are visually distinct and do not affect how community deals are ranked.
How is LootSwarm different from Slickdeals, Brad's Deals, DealNews, Woot, or Ben's Bargains?
LootSwarm is a community-ranked alternative that adds a verification layer those sites largely lack: structured “did it work?” confirmations from real buyers, plus public member reputation — karma, total upvotes, and badges — so you can see who reliably finds deals that actually work. Slickdeals is the closest comparison (also community-driven); Brad's Deals, DealNews, and Ben's Bargains are editorial; Woot is an Amazon-owned store that sells its own clearance. There's a full, fair side-by-side at lootswarm.com/best-deal-sites.
What is the best alternative to Slickdeals, Brad's Deals, or DealNews?
It depends what you want. Slickdeals has the largest established community, DealNews has 25+ years of editor-verified deals, and Brad's Deals pairs picks with buying guides. LootSwarm is the newer, community-ranked option that adds real-shopper “did it work?” verification, public member reputation, keyword deal alerts, and community price history. There's a full comparison of all of them at lootswarm.com/best-deal-sites.
How often are deals updated?
Continuously. Members post new finds throughout the day, the community upvotes them, and confirmations update a deal's status in real time. The homepage shows today's best deals, refreshed as new drops land.
Is LootSwarm free to use?
Yes. Browsing deals, reading confirmations, and seeing member reputations is free. A free account lets you upvote, comment, post your own finds, and track keywords for alerts.
